According to the reasons of lightning to instrument system,the measures of lightning surge protection for automatic instrument were proposed from the aspects of lightning reception,shunting,pressure equalization,equipotential bonding,shielding and setting the SPD.Engineering design for instrument system lightning surge protection in petrochemical industry were introduced such as basic method,equipotential bonding system,lightning surge protection and so on.
