New Combination Method of Evidence Theory Based on the Focal Element Belief

Wang Tin · Journal of Huaihai Institute of Technology · 2015

We present a new combination method for Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. The new method has four key steps.Firstly, the ordered set of focal elements was obtained from the evidences.Secondly,a determining procedure of basic probability assignment was used on the subset with the singletons of the ordered set.Thirdly,a weight function was constructed to obtain the weight matrix by using the belief intervals. At last, evidences were combined with the weight matrix.Experiments on several common and special types of evidences show that the new combination method can fuse all types of evidences accurately with high certainty of singleton.
