Research on Mosaic Algorithm for Fiber Image

A fiber image mosaic algorithm is proposed for panoramic display of fiber images. The image mosaic is implemented with block objectives that are obtained with fibers of different obliquities. Registration robustness and precision is improved because blocks are suitable for optimization algorithms compared with fibers that are slender with smooth appearance. The matching of overlapping regions is realized by polygon block matching. Iterative matching is carried out with polygon approximation. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is suitable for long fiber image mosaic.
