A PL/SQL approach to the Oracle data backup engine:design and implementation

On the basis of analyzing the current modes of network data backup engines,put forward in the paper is a new design method of Oracle backup based on the PL/SQL package for the Oracle database.This method implements the data backup on the database level by using the Oracle inner package to define the backup jobs and schedule them.Compared with the current backup engines which implement the process on the operating system level,this engine has such merits as predigesting the process of backup,making triggered-backup be easily implemented and enabling the system to run in multi-platform and realizing third-party integration.
