Research and Design of University Equipment-Managing System Based on RFID

An university equipment-managing system based on radio-frequency identification(RFID) was designed and realized.The system employs RFID tags,RFID readers,locators and handheld terminals for information collecting,RFID middleware for filtering,grouping,summarizing and calculating of the information.The equipment-managing system adopts unified modeling language(UML) and rational unified process(RUP) information management software,for information managing.Experimental results show that the system can automatically identify the equipments quickly.The average time of completing identification for equipment per set improves from 72 second to 12 second.
