Aiming at the threat from on-board attacks to chips, the major courses and basic characters are analyzed and three aspects are brought out which are increasing the difficulties of the collecting of the full data, increasing the difficulties of pin type identifying and in-creasing the difficulties of analyzing the relationships between the input data and output data. From the point of view of the design of chips, some defensive techniques are introduced in the aspects of collecting data, pin type identifying and analyzing the data of chips. Some techniques are particularly illustrated such as technique of randomization of input data, technique of two-direction pins, technique of information hiding, technique of the combination of FSM and information hiding, and so on.
