Survey of OCR and its applications in pattern recognition

In this paper,the concept of pattern recognition is introduced,statistical decision pattern recognition,structural pattern recognition,fuzzy theory pattern recognition,neural network pattern recognition are briefly explained and OCR in character recognition is introduced in detail.OCR has become one of the most active research projects in pattern recognition with the combination of many technologies such as digital image processing, computer graphics and artificial intelligence.OCR has many applications in character recognition,the use of OCR in printed and handwritten Chinese character recognition in our country are discussed in detail,and the research trends of OCR are given finally.
