Research on MAC protocol for event-driven wireless sensor networks
Linlan Liu · Transducer and Microsystem Technologies · 2008
An ED-MAC protocol which is applied to event-driven wireless sensor networks is proposed. The protocol defines two network statuses-regular status and event status. On regular status, different TDMA mechanisms are designed for the cases of data acquiring in cluster and cluster head reporting. On event status, forward nodes are booked hop by hop.Experiment result shows that ED-MAC protocol has lower energy consumption and shorter transmit delay than S-MAC protocol.
