Key Techniques of the Latest ITU-T Embedded Variable Bit-Rate Speech Coding

The encoder and decoder of ITU-T G.729.1 speech coding standards are introduced.Some key techniques of achieving embedded bit-stream,such as embedded code-excited linear-prediction coding,time-domain bandwidth extension and predictive transform coding that is referred to as time-domain aliasing cancellation are discussed as well.The objective quality tests have shown that the G.729.1 has a very high performance.
