The geographic information system technology as the research object,through the analysis,research,and conclude the hydrology and water resources all fields,combining with cases analysis and sum up the typical application and the present situation of GIS in this field.Application of GIS in the field of hydrology and water resources mainly divided into two parts: hydrological analog,water resources management and detection evaluation.Focus on application of the GIS in water resources management and monitoring evaluation,further subdivided into: management information system of water resources,water resources scheduling management system,water resources management decision support system and water resource monitoring and evaluation system.Based on these,summarize GIS and hydrology water resources combinative actual situation of recent years,and put forward the prospects of the future.
