The basic concept and characteristic of virtual private net(VPN) are expounded.The virtual private net that a currently popular information security technique based on the IP security protocol architecture is researched,and its implementation.Carrying on analysis to the IPSec and introducing the method to realize IPsec.The description of how to design and construct VPN gateways,and security performance tests on them are also discussed.
