Review on Active Contour Model Based Image Segmentation

Active contour model is one of the popular methods in the field of image segmentation recently.The remarkable advantage is that smooth and closed edge always can be extracted regardless of the image quality.This paper summarizes the development the active contour model method,and analyzes the features of main relation algorithms.Furthermore,both the possible research directions and several key problems expected to be solved in the future work are discussed.
