Research on unequal error protection of LDPC codes

Irregular LDPC codes have performance of unequal error protection(UEP),however,it is difficult to realize due to their random encoding.This paper combined the PEG algorithm with UEP property of channel encoding to construct parity check matrix H with UEP property.Simulation results on AWGN and Rayleigh channels show that irregular LDPC codes with UEP property constructed by PEG algorithm can improve the performance of the system efficiently.
