THE TIME-FREQUENCY SPECTRUM OF WAVELET TRANSFORM AND ITS APPLICATION IN SEISMIC SEQUENCE IDENTIFICATION

The time-frequency spectrum calculated by wavelet transform is called time-frequency spectrum of wavelet transform(TFSWT). In this paper, we combine TFSWT with stratigraphy in order to examine various relations between the sedimentary cycles and the characteristic of TFSWT, so as to provide theoretical grounds for the seismic sequences identification and sedimentary facies analysis. With calculation of theoretical models and real data, it shows that the method is more effective to analysis sedimentary cycle system. It may provide information on interior organization of sedimentary, and distribution of material component in sedimentary cycle systems.
