Simulation of the Multiband Excitation Encoder
Tan Xilin · Journal of Nanjing Normal University · 2005
The paper presents the principle of MBE (Multiband Excitation Model) and its analytical and synthetical methods. MBE applies a new excitation spectrum, thus providing high quality speech reproduction for both clean and noisy speech. The algorithm is an ideal scheme of current low-speed speech encoding. The paper also illustrates the simulation of MBE Encoder and provides the flow chat of the program and the result of the simulation. The result shows the synthetical speech and the original speech are similar on the time region and the frequency region, and the synthetical speech is of high definition and comprehension, so the speaker can be easily distinguished.
