A New Voice/Data Network Integrated Architecture
Lei Li · Journal of Suzhou Railway Teachers College · 2001
While the demand for data grows rapidly in the communication network, the data network technology(packet switch) will dominate the future communication network. But the traditional telephone network(circuit switch) will still exist for a long time. In order to converge data network and telephone network effectively, this paper proposes a new voice/data integrated architecture named Intelligence Communication Network Architecture(ICNA) which has a separate control infrastructure for the data network. The paper defines the components and their functions of this control layer. We hope this architecture will help the smooth transition to the future communication network.
