Research on the data management of urban road pavement management system based on GIS

Several decades of research and practice have enabled pavement management system(PMS) to be one of the most helpful analysis tools for both public agency and academic community.And for the time being,the focus of research is being put on extending the functions on the GIS platform.The foundation of establishing a successful system is still the management of data,including classification,organization,encoding,storage and retrieve and maintenance.This paper is to clarify such core problems as data model,data communication,the retrieve and application of historic performance data in managing data of PMS based on GIS.
