Study on NLOS positioning using UWB in mines

Aimed at establishing real-time and high precision positioning system and reducing the effect of NLOS error on positioning in mine,this paper proposes an improved algorithm designed for NLOS environment in mines,based on UWB technology and composite fading channel model.The algorithm consists of restricting the unknown node spatial location to a smaller region using the geometric centroid algorithm and positioning using Taylor and Chan algorithm,thus improving the accuracy of positioning system with UWB underground personnel.The simulation result proves that the algorithm used in NLOS environment of mines is of a higher positioning accuracy and shows a better comprehensive performance than both Chan and Taylor algorithm.
