Review of the Study and Construction of Institutional Repositories in China from 2004 to 2008

The paper gave Institutional Repositories(IR) a review from different aspects,such as concept、 content、 characteristic、 main function、 importance、 software、construction mode and process,the problems encountered,the opportunity and challenge to the library,etc.Finally,the paper proposed that practice was the only countermeasure to develop IR in China.
