Optimzing performance of Sybase stored procedure

The Cursors was usually used in stored procedure, but if it was replaced the loop block of the cursor with equivalentSQL sentence, the performance of stored procedure would be increased remarkably. The up-to-date CASE sentence of SybaseAdaptive Database Server above version 12 could construct efficient SQL sentence to replace cursor. The syntax of CASEsentence was simple, but using it to replace cursor was skillful, there were two examples in the article to describe this. At theend of the article, it was listed the general skill of optimize SQL.
