Joint Frequency-DOA Estimation Exploiting Virtual Tapped-delay-line Array

A kind of joint frequencyDOA spectrum estimation using virtual tappeddelayline array is proposed, which generalizes the classical subspace algorithm to twodimensional spacetime domain. The proposed method has three advantages: firstly, increasing the freedom degrees of the corresponding array leading to an enhanced ability to identify much more emitters; secondly, almost free from estimation bias due to the divergence of signal wavelength from what the array size expresses; thirdly, estimating not only the DOAs but also the frequency domain characters of emitters. The obtained characteristic of emitters is more integral.
