Overcome of local maximum in mutual information-based image registration

Image registration technique is widely used in medical image processing.As far as automation and accuracy,mutual information-based global image registration is the best among all registration methods,but suffers from the artifacts induced by interpolation resulting in the local maximums.An new method is proposed in this paper to overcome the above problem.More function smoothness is acquired and the success probability is greatly improved.Experiment results are also presented.
