CT Image Entropy Analysis for Influences of Moisture on Asphalt Mixtures

The study aims to identify how the moisture affects the micro structure of asphalt mixtures.Test simulation method is used in this study.Two specimens of asphalt mixtures with the same aggregate grades are chosen here and two kinds of moisture condition are designed to treat the specimens before the asphalt mixtures' fracture test.The internal structures of the asphalt specimens before any treatment and after fracture tests are acquired through the use of the Computer Tomography scanning technology.And the influences which brought to the asphalt mixture by the moisture are analyzed by the calculation of the entropies of the specimens.The results show that the entropy increase of the frozen-thaw specimen is more significant.Meanwhile,the significance of the calculation results is examined by introducing statistics methods and the study shows that the test and calculation results of the two specimens have statistics representative meaning.
