In order to construct a proper black start scenario, accelerate system recovery after fault and minimize outage loss, this paper proposes a method for determining the number, capability and location of the generating units in the black start of power systems according to technical performance index of black start and the characteristics of the generators.Outage time and loss under each source selection scheme are obtained by black start simulations, based on which comparison and judgement of start solutions are presented.Simulation results show that optimal generator slection scheme of black start can decrease outage loss by 30%,which proves that the proposed method is effective.
