A Design Approach and Implementation of MPEG-2 Demultiplexer with RISC Microcontroller in CATV Network

This paper proposes a design approach and implementation of MPEG-2 demultiplexer with RISC microcontroller in CATV netowrk. Comparing with previous approaches, this proposed method parses PSI/SI and needed information from inputting different TS with RISC controller. Meanwhile demultiplexing system software transfers these information into MPEG-2 video and audio decoder which successfully finishes the process of demultiplexer implemented. The performance and conclusion from the simulation show that this approach not only presents more flexible ability for data processing, but also lower CPU cycle consume than previous approaches.
