A fault diagnosis method for power transformer based on rough set and fuzzy rules

This paper presents a rough set based fuzzy logic technique which can diagnose faults in transformers.By applying rough set theory to the fault classification table,the reduct of the decision table can be obtained.Rules generated from a reduct are usually more general and concise than that generated from the original table while having the same classification ability.By using fuzzy method,the fuzzy membership function of each fault diagnosis decision rules are confirmed,and finally the fault type of the transformer is diagnosed.The application of this method to some transformers has yielded promising results.
