The influence of lost speech packets on the speech quality in IP and ATM networks and improvement measures

In packet-based networks such as IP and ATM networks, lost speech packets may greatly damage the speech quality. This paper presents two new methods for the purpose of reducing the influence of lost speech packets on the speech communication quality. Experiments prove that they evidently improve the speech communication QoS.
