Studies on Application of SRB Cytotoxicity Assay in Evaluating Anti cancer Drugs
Qing Wang · Bulletin of Science and Technology · 2000
A rapid 96 well plate assay using sulphorhodamine B (SRB) protein stain was adopted to evaluate the growth inhibitory effects of several anti cancer drugs(5 FU,cisplatin,Bufalin) on short term cultured human colon cancer cell line Colo205, skeletal sarcoma cell line OS732 and tongue cancer cell line Tca8113. The results showed that SRB assay was stable and sensitive in evaluating of anti cancer drugs on cultured cancer cell lines. Because of its practical advantages SRB assay may be a useful method over other cytotoxicity assays.
