A Brief Introduction to Word Sense Disambiguation

This paper gives a brief survey of word sense disambiguation(WSD).First the motivation of WSD is described.Next,the methods of how to predict the intended sense for the polysemous words in the context are introduced.Third,the evaluation of WSD system,Senseval /SemEval campaigns is discussed.At last,the conclusion is given.
