Fault diagnosis on rotary machinery based on vector spectrum and rough set theory

Jian Xiao-gang · Chinese journal of construction machinery · 2008

The vector spectrum, which indicates the rotor motion, can fuse the information from the same dual-channel source. On the other hand, the rough set theory is applied for simplifying the decision table and eliminating the redundant attributes. In this study,a fault diagnosis method for rotary machinery is proposed using the vector spectrum and rough set theory. In this manner, four typical symptoms of vibration faults are calculated and approximated using the rough set theory.Afterwards, the approximation results are generated as vector diagnosis rules, which are used for diagnosing the testing samples.Compared with single-channel data, this approach can simplify the diagnosis rules and enhance the fault diagnosis accuracy.
