AS-Interface Technology and its Application

The main characterristics and the applications of As-Interface(As-I) technology in automatic control systems are introduced. The basic part of interface and As-I module are analyzed. Two type application Schemes are presented. As-I is a low-cost electromechanical connection system designed to operate over a two-wire cable carrying data and power,especially suitable for lower levels of plant automation where it can operate stand-alone or with a controller PLC or PC; AS-I can also link into a higher level fieldbus (Profibus,Interbus,DeviceNet,CAN,Modbus,Modbus+,CC-Link,Ethernet etc),as a branch of network systems,providing a complete system solution.
