A construction method of realistic virtual human's head

Abstrcat The face is one of the most vital components in the vast ability of humans to communicate information as well as emotional and motivational cues. Construction and animation of realistic human facial models are an important research field in computer graphics. How to construct a realistic 3D human head model fast and efficiently is still a challenge. The method to construct a realistic human head presented in this paper is: an 3D head-model was first created to serve as a generic model, which can be modified to create another head-model. The individualized head-model is then created by modifying this first head-model with the aid of the orthogonal normal 2D-images of a person, by means of a certain non-linear deformation-Dirichlet Free-Form Deformation. We improve this method by giving different reference points and different priviledge values which are used to control the deformation. Then, we can get a more precise result.
