Jizhong Duan · Video Engineering · 2012
The new video coding standard,HEVC,mainly focuses on video processing, improving coding efficiency of video, especially HD video, with certain increase of coding equipments.Through comparing with H.264 standard, the improvements and optimized algorithms are summarized in fields of coding structures, intra prediction, inter prediction and entropy coding. The experiment results indicate that the performance of HEVC is improved significantly compared with H.264.In view of processing larger size videos, the enhancement of coding performance is more obvious.
