Application of Alarm Correlation Model for Fault Diagnosis in Communication Networks

The analysis of alarm correlation and related researches are introduced.A general alarm correlation model is proposed.Meanwhile the description language and rule discovery processes of alarm correlation are established.Based on the analysis of alarm correlation,the application of fault diagnosis system in telecommunication networks is discussed.Finally the preconditions and characteristics are proposed to realize the alarm correlation model in telecommunication networks.The simulation results showed that the alarm correlation model can compress the redundancy alarms and be benefit to fault location in communication networks.
