Li Tian · Hanyu xuexi · 2006

This paper attempts to give some evidence to support that speech rate has some relation with listening comprehension. We set speech rate as a variable and it is divided it into three levels: high rate, mild rate and low rate.We give the students who study Chinese as a second language a quiz to exam their listening comprehension. The content of the quiz is selected from the samples of HSK.The results shows us that:our study is quite different with the ancestors'.As far as Chinese comprehension is concerned, the students with different proficiency are affected by varied speech rate and the distribution is out of balance.
