Application of Agent in Query Optimization for Distributed Database
Guoxiong Zhang · Journal of Hubei Polytechnic Institute · 2008
Currently distributed database query optimizer is based on the cost model. The total cost is the combination of CPU cost and I/O cost of communication. In the telecommunications network or in the lower data transfer rate system, communications cost should be considered as the primary goal of optimizing. The query model based on Multi-Agent(QMAS) is proposed. In order to ensure the high efficiency of communications between the agents of the system′s groups, the communication model——Tree Topology Multi-Agent System(TTMAS) is also adopted.Every agent in this system communicates and collaborates at high efficiency by using communication primitive to observe the optimality principle, thereby ensuring the query efficiency in QMAS.
