Research on Adaptive Sitemaps

With the explosive growth of World Wide Web,web site visitors often fail in locating information that are of their interests.Site maps are developed to aid visitor understanding the overall structure of the web site.However,by their very nature,site maps usually provide only limited and irrevelant information to individual visitor.In this paper,three levels of navigation contexts are analyzed according to indexes of link structure of web site,access frequency of web pages,etc.Then,an approach is presented for construction of adaptive site maps.Simulation results based on web log of a real world website reveal that the proposed method can assist visitors' navigation,while helping them understand browsing context.
