Research on network coding in wireless Mesh networks:A survey

Wireless Mesh networks is becoming a major paradigm for constructing user access networks that provide community or city-wide Internet connectivity.The network coding,as a new technique which intermediate nodes in the network not only for-ward but also process the incoming information flows,will have a good application in wireless Mesh networks.Firstly,the basic idea of network coding is introduced by comparing traditional routing and network coding under unicast.Then the latest research of network coding is summarized.Furthermore,the states of arts in application of network coding to improve throughput,reliability and security in wireless Mesh networks are proposed respectively.In conclusion,the open issues for network coding referring to application based on the analysis in Mesh networks are pointed out.
