Study on the authentication mechanism and flaws of 802.1x protocol

This paper gave a brief introduction to authentication architecture mechanism of the 802.1x protocol,presented some problems and flaws existed in this authentication mechanism.Frist,it introduced the authentication methods and advantage of 802.1x for port-based network access control.Second,it studied and discussed some problems and flaws under this control based on the practice of network management and research.Conclusion is that comparing to conventional authentication mechanism,802.1x protocol has much advantage,but some problems and flaws existed in security control and network management.
