Design for Real-time IR Image Compression Based on JPEG2000

A real-time infrared image compression system which is based on JPEG2000 standard is proposed.The system is suitable for wireless channels,because it has the high compression ratio and good error resilience.The dedicated video codec ADV202 and high-speed digital signal processor TMS320C6416 are used to carry out the algorithm.This way takes less developing time than the system using FPGA+DSP.The experiment shows this system works well,and the reconstruction image is satisfying.
