A New Approach for GPWS Alarm Threshold

In order to calculate the alarm thresholds for Ground Proximity Warning System(GPWS),this paper proposes a new method-experimental statistic method.The method is based on the analysis of the aircraft moving model and terrain model.To evaluate the proposed method,the mode 2 of GPWS is used as the test-bed.The experimental results show that the alarm thresholds calculated with the proposed method match those provided by standard GPWS very well,which proves the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method.From the experimental results,this paper draws the conclusion that the experimental statistic method is an accurate and simple method.
