Structural Forgetting Hypothesis & Center-Embedded Sentence Processing:Experimental Evidence from Chinese Foreign Language Learners

This paper traces some evidence from Chinese foreign language learners and the experimental results suggest that the processor continues processing at points of high complexity after possibly forgetting some structures built earlier.There does exist VP-missing effect,and the omission of VP2 is most effectively acceptable.Forgetting is a universal principle to some extent in parsing complex structures with high memory cost.
