Visualization and Knowledge Discovery on the Rules of the MCSs Moving out Plateau

Fang R. Zhao · Journal of Institute of Surveying and Mapping · 2004

To open out the external evolvement rules of the MCSs over the Plateau, especially its conditions to move out the Plateau to East, using the technology of the automatic identifying and tracing infrared image targets in a computer ,the features of area, intensity, life cycle, active region and shape of the MCSs are obtained in summer .The features of the MCSs are associated with the High Resolution Limited Area Analysis and the Forecasting System (HLAFS) data, and the correlation analytical method, relationship rules and decision making tree of the spatial data mining oriented are used to seek the relationships between the movement route of MCSs and the physical fields around its center. Consequently, the physical field model charts of influencing MCSs movement are developed on 400 hPa and 500 hPa, respectively. The model charts open out the rules of the MCSs moving out the Plateau, on 400 hPa, the MCS S moving out the Plateau to East are depended on the height (), the vortex (VOR), and the divergent (DIV). And on the 500 hPa, the height and the K index are the main factors that influence the MCS S to move out the Plateau.
