Adaptive weighted filter de-interlacing algorithm and FPGA implementation
Yao Lu · Journal of Jilin University · 2008
A de-interlacing algorithm based on motion detection and adaptive weighted filter is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm can reduce the impact of loud noise in motion adaptive algorithms and high hardware cost in motion-compensated algorithms. This method can retain spatial and vertical details without accurate motion calculation.Logic functions and characteristics are verified in FPGA.The experimental results indicate that the algorithm reduces hardware resources by about 14.5 % compared with row-average algorithm and works well in both static and moving video image.
