Standard of basic information database for hospital information database in China is one important project of themedical information standardization program consigned by MOH, which would improve information progress of hospital and thewhole health system. The author is the director of this project. He focused on the project's source, object, organization,denotation, function and method firstly. And then, he introduced the principles of collecting data union, system structure,catalogue, concept of data union and key content.
