A recognition algorithm for circular stroke of handwritten Korean character based on shape analysis

The distance transformation is carried out for negative image of character, and shape analysis for connective area is adopted for detecting the circular stroke in Korean character. The proposed algorithm is valuable for preclassification of handwritten Korean character in the recognition system.
