Research on Sequential Pattern Mining Algorithms

An active research in data mining area is the discovery of sequential patterns,which finds all frequent sub-sequences in a sequence database.Recent studies can be divided into two major classes of sequential pattern mining methods:a candidate generation-and-test approach;a pattern-growth method.This paper firstly introduces the basic concept of sequential pattern mining, then describes the main algorithms and finally analyzes their performance.
