Study on the Burl's Structure and Physical Properties of Salix matsudana

Inthis paper,Salix matsudana with natural burl woods was picked up as the trial material, and the anatomical characteristics and the physical properties of the burl woods were studied and compared with the mormal woods.The result shows that compared with the normal ones,the fiber width,fiber wall thickness,fiber wall-width ratio all reduced;and the density and longitudinal shrinkage increased in the hurl woods.The ratio of tangential to radical shrinkages in the burl wood trended towqrds 1.Based on this research,the theoretical conferences could be provided for the machining and utilization of the burl woods.
