Unity of Bottom-up and Top-down Strategies in Functional Grammar

Bottom-up and Top-down are two characteristically different strategies of language processing. Since both of them are double-edged, there's a tendency to unite them. In Functional Grammar, the meta-functional analyses with the theory of genre serve as a supporting grammatical tool, aiming to fill the gap between the schema at the philosophical level and words and grammar in a language. This is helpful for the development of a concrete method for the application in the fields of information processing, language teaching, etc.
