A Study of Motion Vector Estimation Algorithms based on Small Diamond Search Pattern

The importance of image stabilization to vehicle-borne tracking system and the advantages and disadvantages of the diamond search algorithm are analyzed.On the base of this,the diamond search pattern are improved and the small diamond search pattern are brought forward.The advantages and disadvantages of the full search,the diamond saerch and the small diamond search are contrasted by emulational experiment.The experimental results show that this algorithm can search the motion vector fast and effectively,meanwhile,ensuring the quality of the image.
